About DocMagnet

DocMagnet Inc. was initially set up in 2004 as a design service for special magnetic applications, but more recently, has expanded into a variety of products that cater for most metal-cutting and steel handling applications.  Their strength is to provide the customer a level of technical support unsurpassed in the industry.
DocMagnet is all about educating the market place, taking the view that it is better for the Magnetic User to fully understand all the benefits and limitations of magnetic material handling and workholding.  There is no such thing as a standard “fits-all” product; EVERYTHING revolves around the workpiece or load.  Accordingly, design and application engineering is DocMagnet’s core strength and separates them from the rest of the field.
The Industrial metal cutting and material handling market can realize and expand to its full potential only through proper training and education on all magnetic products.

Simon Barton

Simon BartonSimon Barton is well known in the industry and regarded as a pioneer by many.  He has spent the last 25 years designing switchable magnetic solutions for notable companies such as FIMAX, ECLIPSE, TECNOMAGNETE, ALPHA AND STAUBLI.  He was also one of the first specialists to introduce Permanent-Electro Magnetic technology to the North American market back in 1994.  His paper, “Magnetic Workholding for Milling & Turning” was presented and published by the SME in 1996 – the opening statement of which is still true today.. “Downtime” is today’s in-word.

Edward Kroliczak

Ed began his career in magnetic workholding when he was hired by Tecnomagnete in 1995 as a service engineer.  He quickly moved up in the company over the next 5 years into Application Engineering and Sales and eventually was Head of Sales in North America.  Ed moved on to Alpha where he continued using his knowledge of the industry as Head of Sales and Marketing.  Ed has been consulting with DocMagnet since 2004 and joined the company as Sales and Marketing Director to better serve the customer.  “The best products and services will not use hard close approaches, because those do not attract the best customers.”
